The New York Times covers Restorative Justice

The New York Times published a moving piece by Paul Tullis on January 4 about the role of restorative justice (RJ) in the criminal justice system. Too often, RJ approaches are considered only for minor offenses. This story tells of the disturbing murder of a young woman by her boyfriend and the amazing process of restorative justice that included the woman’s parents, the young man and his parents, and the prosecutor.

The article, and the widespread exposure it gives to Restorative Justice, gives us a great opportunity to raise awareness about the work that is being done here at CJYI and across the country.
